Director, Product Management (San Francisco, CA)

Wikia is searching for an experienced Product Manager with a passion
for social media, consumer pop-culture (videogames, TV, film, anime,
etc), and, of course, building amazing consumer experiences on the
web. While we don't expect your thumbs to have gaming blisters or you
to be a walking TV guide, you should have a solid understanding of
social media, what's popular, future trends and why everyone seems to
love vampires.

What You Will Be Doing
* Develop and launch new products and features to improve the Wikia
Platform. Focus will be on core site usability, vertical targeted
feature sets and monetization (new ad products and placements).
* Lead and develop a team of product managers and establish agile
product development processes that allow for innovation, iteration and
delivery of a top-notch user experience.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Ad Operations to
develop a long-term product vision and roadmap.
* Perform tons of internal and external market and usability research.
Understand and evangelize web trends and best practices.
* Develop measurement systems, user-studies/focus groups and effective
feedback loops to identify user pain points, desires and effectiveness
of new products.

About You
* 5+ years product management experience at a fast-paced consumer web
company with a proven track record of using these skills to develop
and manage products through the entire product life cycle.
* Strong leadership and team building skills including the ability to
advocate and implement best practices in product planning,
prioritization, development, and evaluation.
* Experience working with and developing products for large online
communities.
* Experience working on a virtual team and with overseas development
studios a plus.
* Ability to thrive in chaos with little direction and a lot of rope.
