The Sales Consultant is the essential link between Etcetera and its customers. Without her, potential clients would continue to shop randomly through the vast sea of clothing retailers, bereft of guidance and spending impulsively. With her, they find a friend, a fashion counselor, and a wardrobe watchdog who actually makes shopping fun again via four week-long showings of Etcetera collections a year, hosted conveniently in the consultant’s own home or showroom. Each Etcetera Sales Consultant is a flex-time, independent contractor who builds a clientele from her initial list of at least 200+ qualified contacts to a loyal customer base that often numbers in the hundreds. Her strategic growth may occur through energetic marketing campaigns and judicious recruitment of diverse, entrepreneurial Sales Associates; but, her fame and fortune rest upon her well-honed ability to take each perfectly fashion-distilled Etcetera collection and dress the women who trust her--beautifully. Though Sales Consultants who join Etcetera are often gifted with leadership, management, and marketing expertise developed through prior work or volunteer careers, they strengthen industry-specific skills through initial training with their Area Development Manager, then continue to stay abreast of new product and sales training information by attending Etcetera previews, held four times a year prior to each season’s launch.
