1. What's the best part about being a Mompreneur? What's the dark side? I absolutely love the flexibility. After being a stay at home mom for 10 years, I was spoiled by the ability to go on field trips with my kids, help out at the school, and to be able to run errands during the week. It would be impossible for me to have a 9-5 job again.

What’s the best part about being a Mompreneur? The best part is flexibility. When the daycare is on vacation or he’s sick, I don’t need to ask for time off from work to stay home with my son. Or when I was breastfeeding, I could work from home and have the caretaker bring him to me to feed and then go back to work.

Why are companies interested in hiring on-rampers, women in particular?
With Baby Boomers retiring, the war for talent is heating up. Women who are looking to return to the workplace are a key employee pool for employers. They have the skills, drive and desire to be back working.
What are you doing now and how did you end up at the Global Education Fund?
I am currently the Program Director of Global Education Fund, a non-profit based in Boulder, Colorado that works to improve the lives of orphans around the world through education, primarily by providing books and scholarships. My path to Global Education Fund has been anything but straight, but I am fortunate that my current job combines my major interests and work experiences.
